Lisa and Tom

Lisa was a bride that came to us because her father and John have been teaching together for years. Mr. Goode was the favorite teacher of several Heyn Photography employees (favorite teacher after John that is!) and everyone was excited to be able to do Lisa's wedding. Lisa looked stunning, and kept her calm despite worries about being caught in the rain. John assured her she wasn't going to be caught in it and he kept his promise... 8 minutes after Lisa and Tom went inside the skies opened over the Molly Pitcher Inn, talk about close calls!!

Early on in the day Cara spent quality time with the bridesmaids as John and Marissa photographed Lisa alone...after a half an hour we suspected that perhaps they had kidnapped the bride! To their great relief, it turns out the three of them had been having a great time finding poses inside the suite at Molly Pitcher. While we bonded with the girls the boys, having already been shot, were enjoying a beer at Basil T's across the street.

We headed to Deep Cut park for formals where we photographed the bridal party and bride in under a half hour...and those shots of the koi pond were out of this world!

Meghann and Mike

A note about Meghann: We love her. We love her because she has openly stalked our blog for months and was committed to doing whatever it took to get those same amazing photos on her wedding. From day one Meg told us that she was just as in love with us as with Mike. (Well... we're sure that's an exaggeration Mike!) We can honestly say that we were more pumped for Meghann's wedding than most because she had become so involved with us that she could never ever be just another bride.

And she wasn't lying when she said she was committed to the pictures! She was even caught hiking up her dress to take a drink of water after long hours of taking pictures, getting married, taking pictures, and so on. She was worshipping her husband as he blew his conk (as in shell!) and jumping all around the park, the beach and the borrowed house for photos.

Meg, we simply couldn't wait to get these images to you!!! We hope you're happy with the work and that you continue to stalk us for many years to come :)

Tina and Dave

Tina and Dave have a special relationship with this studio...Tina and Marissa have been friends for years! When Tina announced she was getting married, there was no question who was shooting her wedding, or her engagement session. John and Marissa had fun shooting Tina (in her snazzy lime green) and Dave at Pier Village, one of our favorite beaches to shoot.

Tina, we cannot wait for your wedding!!!!

Meg and Eric

One of our Engagement Sessions during the week was Meg and Eric... John and Cara drove out of one summer thunderstorm and were afraid they were driving straight into another as they traveled to Manasquan Beach. However, the storm blew over them leaving some tremendous waves, some intimidating clouds, and two adorable people. Whether climbing the lifeguard stand or lounging in the sand, these two were willing to go the extra mile for a good image...can't wait to do your wedding guys! Have a nice engagement party this week!!

Alyson and Thomas

We had quite the busy week here at the studio, engagement sessions during the week, weddings during the weekend. All had a consistent summer storm cloud motif, which meant great pictures for us! And, luckily for our couples, none of them actually got hit by the storm!

Alyson and Tom were our Friday affair. Alyson had a smile that made her whole face glow, and we couldn't get enough images of her! As she was getting dressed at her parents house, you could see her mother's wedding dress on the wall to compliment her daughter's wedding dress. Also, Alyson's baby shoes were on a nearby table, we just couldn't resist taking shots of such priceless moments.

As the day wore on we got to see Alyson the daughter, Alyson the aunt, Alyson the Softball Coach and Alyson, Tom's new wife. From St. Margaret's to confusion at Spring Lake to Oyster Point, it was a rewarding day.

Snazzy New Business Cards

This year has been such a productive one for us that we found ourselves running out of business cards... right at the height of wedding season!! Well we decided to update the look, go for a more simplified layout, a new font, and a different material for the card. Cara got to sink her teeth into designing it, but it was a group effort. Who thought it would be so hard to choose between 3 different fonts? What about the color vs. black and white aspect? And do the 3 favorite images of each photographer from this new season mesh well together?

Well, its been a few weeks in working out the kinks, but the cards are made and ordered.... if anyone's in the market, this company really does a great job! The silk cards are heavenly to touch and really add a sense of class and occassion to the usually mundane act of handing out a business card::

Lisa and Patrick

"What happened to spring?"

We heard that a lot yesterday as a heatwave hit our Point Pleasant wedding, Lisa and Patrick. It was unbearably hot but we managed to work quickly outside and then move to the nice, cool, air-conditioned Crystal Point. Lisa was one of those brides that probably would have jumped in the pool, wedding dress and all, for us if we asked her to, and as you'll see we got some remarkable pictures!

Julie and Bill

Julie and Bill had a truly romantic story about how they found one another...at Disney World! That's right, they met at Disney and one year later Bill proposed right by the castle, isn't that every girl's dream? Despite three waves of tourists that kept filing in around him as he tried to propose, their tale has been picture perfect. Speaking of pictures....

Jessica and Ray

Talk about your rainy day wedding, Jessica and Ray got married with a tornado warning posted! Although lucky for us the storms came early, left early and we got to enjoy shooting the wedding party outside at St. Mary of the Lake, then it was across the street to a lakeside path and dock (where some jealous ducks later chased all 3 photographers back to Marissa's car!). Next was Crystal Point, one of our favorite locations, where Jessica and Ray danced the night away. Despite the weather Jessica was a happy, smiling bride who could really add some sass to her portraits when she wanted to ;)

Congrats you two!

Laura and Fernando

Laura and Fernando got married at Addison Park and it was a beautiful (and hot!) sunny day in May. They were surrounded by friends and family, including their adorable son Stephen, who developed a bit of a crush on one of the photographers! From a bright, sunny ceremony to an intimate shoot under the stars, Laura and Fernando were a pleasure to photograph.
