Dawn & Tim

Dawn and Tim were married on a beautiful July day surrounded by the absolute glory of nature: trees all around and then a trip to the beach to boot! Everything sailed smoothly through the day and Dawn was just radiant (which made our job extremely easy!). Everyone was very cooperative and sweet and it didn't feel like we were working on a day like this :)
While this wedding was perfectly cheorographed nothing was better was more spectacular to see than when the bride and groom really strutted their stuff during their first dance. Very impressive!

Tara & Dave

Sometimes as photographers we just luck out and this weekend was one of them: we had two of the most relaxed couples ever. Nothing could ruin their day and they were willing to do whatever it took to have as much fun (and get as many fun pictures) as possible! Tara and Dave rounded out our weekend with all the high-velocity spirit they had. Everyone was laughing, joking and having a good time.

Good-naturedly Tara rolled around on the bed for Marissa's signature "Victoria Secret Style" while Dave and the boys were occupied by Cara and Rebecca with tricks like beer-toasts and showing a little well-toned calf muscle :) Then it was off to the beach! Even though it was crowded with people all around Tara and Dave only had eyes for one another. We could feel the love just radiating off of them and you can see it oozes through on every photograph.

Tara showed us some retro-sass with a pair of borrow sunglasses (thanks to Rebecca!) and it was only a couple of rock-wall poses, a street-crossing and a limo-ride away from the Water's Edge where they had a ceremony on the sand. It was a truly beautiful end to a great weekend and we wish this couple the best of luck!

Meg and Eric

If Meg and Eric look familiar its because we posted an engagement session with them once upon a time. We loved shooting them then and we loved shooting them on their wedding. They are very relaxed people who take everything in stride: the bed half falls apart during the shoot, its all ok; the storm clouds are moving in, no big deal; the country club members are wondering why the heck a bridal party is on their putting green, "So what's gonna happen, they aren't going to let me have my wedding here again?" (haha, good one Eric!). This was truly a couple who couldn't have their feathers ruffled which made them amazing to work with.

We started the day at Meg's parents' GORGEOUS house with the sprawling back yard that looked fit for a magazine and a pink living room that had conveniently been emptied of furniture (which gave us plenty of room to play!). After the house it was on to Eagle Oaks Country Club where Eric convinced the manager's to let us have a few minutes on the green after the ceremony ( sans heels, of course). We also nabbed a few long exposures at night before we photographed them dancing the night away. Disco lights at the venue made for some pretty unique lighting and let's just say that it was hard for Meg and Eric to quit locking lips as they danced (but, hey, it was their wedding day!)

Ah! To Be Young, In Love, Engaged and In Asbury

Last night Marissa and Cara had the pleasure of shooting an engagement session with Kara and John. After we got through the initial problem of Kara answering for Cara and Cara answering for Kara everything went smoothly. The group managed to hit just about every location in Asbury: Paramount Theatre, the boardwalk, the Beach Bar, the beach and finally Casino!

It was a great night that ended up with some really funky photos. Kara and John were great sports who went into a construction zone, rolled around in the sand, strolled into a closed bar and even got soaked by some waves for the sake of a photograph :)

We love our brides and they love us!

We LOVE hearing back from our brides and sometimes their kind words mean so much to us that we can't help but share them! Not too long ago we stuck a bride in a bathtub, had her climb on top of a desk, and meander through an old train yard for her wedding day pictures. She managed to be able to view the slideshow during her honeymoon and sent us a very heartfelt email. Thanks Lisa!!!

You can still view Lisa's show HERE :)

Saira & Jung: A Two Day Affair

This past weekend was an absolute blast with lots of firsts. Saira and Jung had a fun filled two day wedding celebration. Friday night the celebration was at Saira’s parents’ house. Despite the crazy storm that blew in the night was perfect. Saira was stunning in a traditional sari in a deep jewel green. There were several traditional dance performances celebrating the newlyweds. Family and friends would come up to the couple giving well wishes on their new future together. No storm was going to stop this party from happening!

Saturday’s celebration was completely different and extremely exciting. John, Cara, Rebecca, and I met the bride in New York City at the Millennium Hotel at the United Nations, to photograph her getting ready for her big day. Saira was dazzling in gold colored wedding sari which was adorned with beautiful intricate beading, and not to mention her shoes were absolutely fabulous!

Once the bride was ready it was over to the United Nations to do images on the terrace overlooking the East River with her very handsome husband. It was the first time we had been at the United Nations to photograph a wedding. The views from the terrace were unbelievable, and to top that off the staff and security were nice enough to escort Saira, Jung, John and I around the U. N. We were fortunate to go inside the General Assembly to take photographs with all the different nations specifically Bangladesh and the People’s Republic of Korea. Then we were off to the Hall of Flags where we took more photographs of the bride and groom by the family flags and, of course, we took a picture by the American Flag. Saira and Jung were very proud to stand by U.S. A. flag as Jung is a United States Marine. To top off our firsts, a quick storm blew in yet again but left the most breath taking rainbow over the East River.

The ballroom was gorgeous, modern and colorful. Saira’s colors were chocolate brown, deep reds, and aqua. The bride and groom entered twice into their wedding reception. The first time they were welcomed by family and friends and did a traditional Indian wedding ceremony. The second time they were welcomed and saluted by Jung’s fellow Marines where the welcomed Saira to their family. We even captured a romantic twilight shot! The rest of the night was filled with great music, conversation, spectacular views but most importantly love.

They say “ No rain, no rainbows” and we do hope that the rainbow at this wedding was a sign of love and lots of luck for this amazing couple!!
