Lisa & Daniel

Lisa and Daniel were married on a rainy saturday at the Liberty House with a view of the city that was half obscured by fog but you know what? It was still amazingly picturesque! Lisa was a really good sport with us and let us pose her a thousand different ways in her gorgeous (and dry!) hotel room. She was in the bathtub, in the shower, on a desk, on a bed... needless to say she really gave us her all :)

When we all got to the Liberty House we had a window where it wasn't raining and we ran out onto the balcony to shoot for a while. Even when the rain started up again Lisa and Dan bravely went to a local train station for more fun shots :)

We must say it: THIS is how you make it through a rainy day wedding with awesome shots. They were truly a wonderful couple!

Megan & Brendan

Megan and Brendan thought they were going to be the latest in a long line for rainy-day weddings from June but just as it was time to go outside for pictures something amazing happened: we finally saw the sun!

Their day took place entirely in Red Bank going from the Molly Pitcher, to St. James, to Riverside Park, and back to the Molly again! It was fun to stay in the same area and really get to explore our surroundings. Pictures in the park? Play with the painted wall? Get a quick sunset and dance the night away!

Sarah and Alan

Sarah and Alan had a lovely quiet little ceremony at the Breakers with only their nearest and dearest in attendance. It was flip-flops all the way as the bride and groom both went for comfort on their boardwalk/beach wedding. This day was just a little different then most because it was so low key but it was a joy to have such a calm, easy-going couple.

Luckily they had great weather, great people and great photos to help them make their wedding day just a little bit more special :)

Every now and then we get the honor to take wedding pictures twice! By this we mean the bride and groom already were married somewhere else-this being England and get to have a second party here with their friends and families. Sarah and Neil were originally Married in a quaint abby in England and for the U.S. they wanted to spice it up a little bit, check out Sarah's Fabulous Dress and Neil looking very G.Q.!! Here's a few of our fav.'s...check them out :)

Kristy & Frank

There's nothing quite like a day covered by constant rain to put you in the mood for a wedding, right? Right! Well... maybe not to everyone but we've said it once and we'll say it a thousand more times: photographers love the rain. You get some really cool shots, the colors are brighter, no one is squinting because of the sun. In short: we love the rain. We know not every bride feels the same way, and we know that Kristy wished for better weather for her special day, but she definitely prepared for the rain.
Kristy and her bridesmaids rushed to Target when it looked like the weather just wasn't going to take a turn towards the sunny side and bought really cute see-through umbrellas. In fact, umbrellas were sort of a theme of the day: umbrellas for the bride and groom, umbrellas overhead to keep the camera dry.... monstrous winds utterly destroying one of the Heyn Photo golf umbrellas. Even the gazebo we took pictures in had the vague shape and design of an umbrella!
Despite the weather Kristy and Frank managed to get some really amazing shots. There were also some pretty important life lessons such as the strength of an umbrella is in its wind resistance, not its width, and if the groom must get wet to keep the bride dry...then the groom just has to get wet.
These were two special people and we're happy we got to share their day with them!

Sunday & John

The license plate really says it all for this couple: True Love.

Sunday and John were our last wedding of May and we were dodging in and out of storms the whole day, but no one let it dampen their spirits. In fact our enthusiastic bride volunteered to jump into the misty weather to make sure she got her pictures in a lovely little rose garden!

Once more we found ourselves at the Palace and we just have so many little alcoves to shoot in that we could barely contain ourselves! Thank goodness Sunday and John were good sports about it all but really they're the winners: just take a look at their photos and you'll see why!
