Carrie & Scott

Saturday's wedding was another wedding amongst friends because Marissa once again had friends, namely Carrie's sister Staci, and a former bride, Lisa Jemal, in the bridal party. Carrie was a girl with a classic Hollywood face so what did we do? Immediately we did some old-school glamour lighting on her and it really made her eyes just POP!

Carrie and Scott might have been trapped inside most of the day from rain but when they got a window they ventured out for a five-minute shoot. Still, who said you can't have fun inside? Good photographers work with the settings they have to the best of their ability and we found some really interesting places to pose our bride and groom. This was a couple who smiled whenever they looked at one another and that sort of dedication does more for a photo than anything else :)

Kristine & Jeff

It was a long weekend for the Heyn Photo crew: back to back weddings! The first wedding, our Friday Affair, was Kristine and Jeff who were bubbly throughout their day (even when it was horribly humid or raining cats and dogs). Jeff and his boys started their day down by the beach and then high-tailed it over to St. James in Red Bank where Jeff had to have an emergency White-Out application on his collar.

After the church let out the skies opened and the wedding party went to Monmouth University for pictures (this is why its always great to book an indoor location...no one can predict the weather!). We had a lot of fun at Monmouth (as we always do) and the pictures decidedly reflect that joy :)

At the Shadowbrook Jeff let his love of Michael Jackson show through with a sequined glove and Kristine said no to high heels and yes to customized pink and zebra high-tops! Unique accessories like that always make for fun photo opportunities :)

Jennifer & Gregg

This weekend we had the pleasure of never leaving Spring Lake for Jen Newcombe's wedding. We started at a beautiful house a block away from the lake, then we went to St. Catharine's before doing formals at the park before we had fun at the beach and before we knew it we were finishing up our day at the Spring Lake Golf Club. Apart from having our beautiful bride to shoot we had a fun bridal party and three adorable kids (two flower girls and a ringbearer) who were Jen's nieces and nephew. Not to mention there was an awesome car for us to play with once we got to Spring Lake Golf Club :) Note to brides: interesting vehicles are always a plus!

It might have been a scorcher outside but no one let the heat get them down :) This couple was the definition of class and it was a delightful day for all involved!

Jenn & Dan

Our second wedding on August 8th happened to be another friend of Marissa's! Once more Marissa was in the bridal party and for this wedding, because every member of the studio was working, Marissa actually shot a decent portion of this wedding IN HER BALLGOWN! She's a trooper! John, Jenelle and a new assistant, Rebecca, worked this wedding also because with a photographer playing duel roles as shooter and bridesmaid you definitely need all hands on deck!

Knowing a wedding photographer on a personal basis always helps when planning the perfect photo shoot for your special day. We only get one chance to shoot a wedding so its great when a bride plans ahead for all the time we could possibly need! Jenn gave us plenty of play time in the house and she went for a statement shoe to really help her pop in her photos (but let's face it, she would've been radiant even if she were barefoot).

After the house there were so many other spots to shoot! We had a park where Dan and the boys (and the dog) really got to take some fun photos, then there was the beach and Monmouth U. We LOVE to shoot at Monmouth U because its so classy looking and we get some very high-fashion shots out of it so we were extremely happy to have the time to shoot there! After that we wound up in the Freehold Radisson which was only 4 minutes away from South Gate Manor (where the other crew was working Heather Rossi's wedding!). We just couldn't resist: after Rossi's wedding ended the girls headed over to the Radisson to get a Heyn Photo Family Shot (funny enough the last one was taken at Tina Glosson's wedding where Marissa was the maid of honor! she's always wearing a ball gown in these things!)

Heather & John

This Saturday was a very busy day for us with the studio split into two factions: The Rossi Wedding and the Karen wedding. Two teams were shooting two very different weddings and Larry, Jacqui and Cara had the pleasure of shooting Heather Rossi. We were all over the place! Starting in brick we got to shoot Heather (and her adorable dogs who were dressed for the occassion!) in the house and also pool-side!

After that it was off to Farmingdale where we were shocked to see a police officer standing inside the church in full uniform! But no fear, no one did anything wrong, it was just John's connections seeing as he's a police offerice and all :) We even had the experience of having a police escort for just a little while as we headed over to Spring Lake to have fun in the park (and on Main Street!). When we were done in Spring Lake we hustled over to the beach and then scooted over to Freehold where we finally settled in at the South Gate Manor.

If we've said it once, we've said it a thousand times: the way you get great pictures is having great people to shoot. Heather hiked up her dress on a lounge chair, got down on the ground in spring lake, and let John spin her around on the sand! It made for some pretty special photographs.
