They were amazing! If I could do things over again...I'd still use
Marissa at Heyn Photography. Our pictures are amazing and they were the most
friendly, flexible, and fun photographers! We paid for their package that
included two photographers...and
three came to the wedding to help get all
the great shots! We loved them!

How sweet is that? Stephani Johnson gave us that review on weddingwire.com and we can't help but share it :) If we had to rate our brides we would definitely have given Stephani a 10 out of 5 because she is perfect twice over :) Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can still view Stephani's slideshow HERE :)

Andrea & Larry

Andrea was a bride who got dealt a bad hand from the weatherman: it was threatening to rain, it was cold and what's worse: it was windy. Wind is a veil killer and on the beach there's nothing quite as biting as a stiff sea-breeze when its already in the 50s but what can you do? Andrea took her man and her bridal party and they trooped outside regardless of how uncomfortable it was... that's dedication! Despite the shivering the pictures look warm and full of love :)

One of the best things about an overcast days is the SKY, just look at some of those skies we managed to get!! It may not have been the ideal day to be outside but that will never stop it from looking like the ideal day to get married when the right photographer snaps the shot.

Something that was particularly special about this wedding was that after the ceremony when the couple was in front of the absolutely beautiful red doors to the church the bride's veil met the wind... in the few seconds that it was blowing around we managed to get a few frames and its just one of those breathtaking shots that we could never plan for if we had a thousand years. Other fun little details were Andrea's garter and Larry's cuff-links which were both Giants themed. In fact he just doesn't love him some Giants, his firm represents the Giants!! We were hoping to see some of the Big Blue in person but no such luck (too bad! John and Marissa are huge Giants fans!)

Nicole and Jay

What do you do with a bride who looks like a movie star and is game for anything? ... you go to town! (and you bring your camera with you!)

Usually we give a bride memories to last a lifetime in the form of her wedding photos: this time a bride gave US something.... a brand new location!

While we've been shooting at Monmouth U for years (and will continue to shoot there for years because it will never go out of style) we hadn't known about a hidden bathroom on the second floor. Thank you Nicole!!! It has marble, paintings, chairs, a bathtub and a shower stall....hello photographic playground!!! Speaking of shower stalls, you may wonder: Where exactly is Nicole posing in her house session? A shower stall with hazy doors (don't worry we didn't actually put a bride in a steamed room) and really beautiful tiles.

Once more we had a bride and groom who went with the flow and gave us the freedom to get those amazing shots. Maybe its because as friends of Marissa's they knew to just trust us? Maybe its because they are such down-to-earth people? Either way, they were a fantastic couple who look drop-dead-gorgeous together. We wish them every ounce of happiness :)

Kellee & Jose

As we said, the studio was graced with two perfect weddings one fine September day and Kellee and Jose were the lucky couple behind one of them. This was a couple with a goal in mind: to have as much fun as humanly possible! (Which they totally achieved, by the way) This bridal proved it: posing can be fun and sexy, its not all boring :)

We've recently been getting a lot of Marissa's friends' weddings... this time it was John who happened to know Mike, Kellee's uncle, because they trained as wedding photographers in the same studio! Maybe that's why Kellee loves the camera so much? (Well...the camera loves her too)

They started at the Berkeley which can only be described as mind-blowingly beautiful. So beautiful in fact that our very own Marissa has booked her own wedding there! Needless to say, we really do LOVE the location. Since the hotel was so close to Asbury Park Boardwalk... well ... who can resist a boardwalk shoot on a wedding day?

Casino? Check. Giant octopus-thing? Double check. The whole bridal party got to join in the fun as they gave us hilarious pose after hilarious pose ( you may notice a Michael Jackson tribute)... Kellee and the girls got to frisk the boys, how many bridal parties get to do that?!

Don't think that Asbury is all play and no work: we definitely got some stunning romantic shots (just look at how versatile that place is!) and finally everyone danced the night away.

Stephani & Josh

Photographers always have two pictures in mind when they start out on a job: the one they really really want to take, and the picture that they will inevitably have to take because of weather or timing or a thousand other factors. We are always in search of those illusive perfect pictures. Lucky for us, Heyn Photography struck absolute gold on September 6th with two PERFECT weddings.

Marissa, Cara and Jacqui took the reigns on Stephani and Josh's wedding in scenic Hightstown. We've always said that the way to great pictures starts with a great location: Hightstown was it. We had a park, we had a waterfront, we had streets to stroll down, shops to pose in front of... we had plenty to keep up occupied. In fact, we wanted to keep shooting even when we knew we had to leave for the reception!

Stephani and Josh were very easy-going and were up for anything (another trait that makes for amazing photos!). They poised themselves over a banister, they sat on the grass, and Josh even loaned out his RayBans so that we could Rock'N'Roll it up :)

They were a truly amazing couple, it was a wedding to be envied :)

Michele & Slavic

Sometimes you don't even know a day is done until the cake is being cut and the band is putting their instruments away: Michele's wedding just flowed seemlessly from the house to the Shadowbrook. We started in Staten Island at Michele's parents' house where all of her friends and family came to give a helping hand to the bride to be. We didn't have to worry about identifying bridal party and non-bridal party members: everyone had nifty tee-shirts detailing their role in the wedding :)

We moved onto the Shadowbrook and from there where the ceremony happened in the beautiful outdoors (the gardens there are the perfect setting for starting a new life together!) After that it was just picture after picture until it was time to go home.
