This is a special sneak peek of some of our past 2011 Engagement Sessions! From the streets of Asbury Park to the grounds of Rutgers Stadium, each couple had their own unique setting for their day. We had a blast on each and every shoot and we are looking forwards to next seasons couples! Congratulations on all of your engagements!!

Jennifer and Sean

Today's bride is one of a very familiar face. Jennifer is the fourth of a group of best friends that we have been photographing their weddings now for the past few years. Once the Heyn team arrived to Jennifer's mom's house, we went right to work photographing all of the brides key details for the day. We were able to get some great jewery shots and details as Jennifer finished her hair and makeup. Once we she was ready, we went right to our usual video lit bedroom shots. Jennifer's blue eyes were absolutely stunning compared to her pop of red lipstick. It was an amazing combination that we all fell in love with! It was quickly time to meet up with her groom Sean, at the Oyster Point Hotel for the couples first meeting. You could instantly see the love in their eyes for each other! The couple and bridal party then ventured to our new favorite park this season, Thompson Park in Lincroft. It's such a great park for engagement sessions or weddings. After some fun in the park, it was time for the couple to tie the knot at St. James Church in Red Bank. We snapped a few pictures on the streets of Red Bank before heading over to Water's Edge for the reception and some romantic sunset pictures of the newlyweds.

Catherine and Derek

Catherine and Derek's day began at the Courtyard Hotel in Lyndhurst, NJ. It was great starting spot that complimented the couples classic, yet modern style. Catherine's theme of the day was glitz and glam. From her dazzling Kate Spade shoes and crystal detailed bouquet, Catherine hit every note! Her dress also had just the perfect amount sparkle for our fun bed shoots, she looked stunning throughout all of them! We then wrapped things up at the hotel and headed to St. Aloysius Church in Jersey City. It was same church that Catherine's parents got married in, making the ceremony even more special to them. After the couple officially tied the knot, it was time to go to Ninina's in the Park, in Belleville, NJ for more photographs. It is a perfect venue choice to have both your reception and photographs taken at because of the gorgeous courtyard they have there. The reception then kicked off with our good friend, Jay from Sound Connection, who always knows how to start a party!

Alison & David

Getting the chance to photograph at Windows on the Water is always a treat for us. On Alison and David's wedding day, that was not the only highlight of our day. We began with our beautiful bride, Alison, in the bridal suite where we did our fun getting ready shots. Along side with our bridal party, we headed over to another of our favorite spots, Deep Cut Park. Despite the cloudy sky, our bridal party brightened up the day with their colorful dresses. It was such a fun touch Alison added! We were also able to use the clouds to our advantage to get some stunning infrared photographs of the couple! After we wondered around to some of our favorite nooks in the park, it was time for Alison and David to tie the knot on the beach back at Windows on the Water. The nearby palmtrees gave the ceremony the feeling of a destination wedding that we always love! Guests then danced the night away during the reception!

Amanda & Anthony

You may have done a double take at the above image thinking, "Kim Kardashian?" That was our exact thought on Amanda and Anthony's wedding day. Amanda spent much time perfecting her day and let us be the first to confirm, it was flawless! From her stunning lace dress and handmade vail to her venue choice of the famous Eagle Oaks country club, Amanda didn't skip a single beat. We also can't forget to mention the bridal parties gorgeous gowns from Two Birds. They were all uniquely wrapped to fit each girl perfectly! They had to be our favorite dresses this season. Once Amanda was ready to go, we met our groom, Anthony at our little nook in Spring Lake park. From there we ventured to the beach and down Main street before heading to the country club for the couples intimate outdoor ceremony. With the help of our long time friend, Mike Hernadez from Sounds To Go DJ's, the reception was a blast! Everyone was dancing, having a great time!

Allyson & Chris

Although many of our brides may not agree with this, the Girls of Heyn Photography absolutely love a rainy wedding day. Not only for the good luck it brings our newly weds, but for the perfect lighting and unique look it brings to the day. For Allyson and Chris' wedding, perfect is an understatement. We started at the Ramada Hotel in Tom's River, NJ where our bride and bridal party were calm, cool and collectively getting everything together for the big day. The group then headed to one of the cutest little chapels in Allaire State Park that we have seen this season. After a short but very sweet ceremony, we took the couple to roam around the gorgeous grounds of the park. From the little house, windy paths and colorful trains, it truly was an amazing location that we hope to go back to soon! Once we had our fun in the puddles, we ventured back to the Ramada for the reception.

The day was an absolute treat for us to photograph and we wish Allyson and Chris the best on their marriage!! Congratulations!!

Jill & John

Jill and John's wedding day had every traditional detail that the girls of Heyn Photography always love to see. We started our day at Jill's mother's house where we did our dramatic bedroom shots. Jill and her bridal party both looked stunning in their gowns. The bright pop of purple was a fun detail that we instantly fell in love with! We then headed to our favorite beach town, Asbury Park, to meet up with our groom, John. The couple and bridal party had some fun in the Casino and beach where we got amazing infrared shots. The clouds couldn't have been more perfect that day! The couple made a quick stop at the old Ashes in Red Bank before getting to the Molly Pitcher for their ceremony and reception. The ceremony was held outside on their beautiful veranda that overlooks the Navesink River. We recommend it to any of our future brides having their day at the Molly Pitcher.

All in all the day was great and we wish Jill and John the best!!

Heather & Phil

We always love to start our wedding day with an enthusiastic and upbeat bride. Today's bride, Heather, was all of that and more! After a gorgeous house session, we were off to Blessed Sacrament to meet with our groom, Phil, for their ceremony. Once they tied the knot, the couple and bridal party ventured to Asbury Park. After some fun in the sun, the couple was ready to kick off their reception party at the River House in Brielle, NJ. Heather's love for the Yankees came out in her wedding favors to her guests. It was such a great personal touch! To wrap up the night, we were able to get some beautiful night time moon shots with Heather and Phil.

Kelly and Edwin's day was nothing short of a simple, fairytale beach wedding. We started our day at the Ocean Place, in Long Branch, NJ. Once Kelly's hair was curled and dress was on, we went right to work doing some of our favorite poses throughout the room. It was such a pleasure photographing such a stunning bride. Talk about some of the most gorgeous blue eyes you have ever seen!! We then met up with her now husband, Edwin, and headed for the streets 0f Asbury Park, mixing up our usual locations for new ones. Since Kelly is an interior designer, it seemed almost too perfect to set our first location in front of the design store on Cookman Avenue. After a few more pictures, we ventured back to the couples beach ceremony at Ocean Place. Working hand in hand with some our favorites, Flowerful Events and Sound Connection, the reception was absolutely amazing. With a surprise of fireworks on the beach to wrap up the night, the day was flawless!

Deanna & Craig

The last bride to round out our Labor Day weekend was the third of the "Heyn" girls for the wedding season this year. Our bride, Deanna, has been a close-knit family friend to the Heyn girls and they have been waiting for this special day for many, many years. Despite her "photo phobia", it was quite apparent in the end how radiant and stunning Deanna looked throughout her wedding day. The anxiousness officially wore off once we met up with her now husband, Craig, in Bayonne Park, NJ. John and the photo girls instantly fell in love with this new location and can not wait to go back there soon! The day ended with the ceremony and reception held at the Newark Club that over looked the dazzling New York City skyline.

It was a flawless day and we wish Deanna and Craig best wishes!!

Stephanie & Roger

Stephanie and Roger's wedding was a great, laid back day filled with fun, memorable details. We started the day photographing Stephanie. The birdcage vail is always a unique touch that we love seeing on wedding days. It looked gorgeous on her!! We then went to one of our local spot in Spring Lake to do the couples first meeting. Now on a usual day, we would take romantic boardwalk pictures at the beach there, however, with the recent twist of Hurricane Irene our vision had to be slightly changed up. Instead, we were able to capture a broken down, dilapidated look that came out awesome in the end! Roger then treated us with his detail to the day by bringing along is bright yellow truck! It was such a fun way to wrap up our photo time with the couple. We then went over to the Oak Tree Lodge, in Wall, NJ for a beautiful outdoor ceremony and reception.

Ashley & Ryne

When we think of our favorite fairytale themed wedding from this past season, it's almost unanimous that Ashley and Ryne's wedding is our first pick. We kept our day local starting at Ashley's parents house we were able to capture all of her details going into the day. We then headed over to Christ Church in Shewsbury, NJ. It's a quiant little white church, perfect for an intimate ceremony! We absolutely loved it there! The newly weds took a quick trip to Red Bank to one of our favorite nooks then ended the day at the Shadowbrook in Shewsbury, NJ.
Ashley and Ryne's day was romantic, whimsical and beautiful! Congratulations!!

Alicia & Gabe

The day had finally come! After having a blast on our trip to Hoboken, NJ for their engagement shoot, Gabe and Alicia tied the knot on Labor Day weekend. We started out the day at the Saddlebrook Marriott, in Saddlebrook, NJ with Alicia. When we saw Alicia's stunning dress and Jimmy Choo shoes, we knew it was going to be a day filled with glitz and glam! After having an amazing photoshoot in the hotel, we headed over to Newark, NJ for our ceremony at St. Lucy's Church where the two saw each other for the first time. After the mass, we made our way to the grand Venetian Ballroom in Garfield, NJ. We roamed around the courtyard and posed with the Bently Gabe and Alicia had for the day. The party officially kicked off when our favorite DJ, Jay from Sound Connection, opened up the dance floor!!

Marissa & Kyle

We started Marissa and Kyle's day at the beautiful Oyster Point Hotel in Red Bank, NJ. There, Marissa turned up the heat by struting around the room in her drop dead gorgeous dress! We then mixed things up a little bit by bringing Marissa down in the glass elevator to the library, to meet Kyle for the first time that day. The couple decided to have some alone photo time throughout Red Bank, where we found some great new "nooks"!! The ceremony and reception then followed at the Shadowbrook where we had a late night mini photo session in the courtyard.

Chris and Gina's modern beach wedding was nothing less of simply beautiful. Gina's dress had just the right amount of elegance and she looked absolutely stunning! The two held their ceremony at Saint Elizabeth's Church in Avon, NJ then headed over to Asbury Park for some fun bridal party shots! The couple had their reception at the beautifully renovated Windows on the Water in Sea Bright, NJ. (We highly recommend checking it out if you are looking for a venue!)

Shannon and Ryan's wedding day was full of fun, laughter and love. The couple kept things traditional with their ceremony at Saint Mary's Church in Colts Neck, NJ, but brought out all of the stops once we arrived in Asbury Park! With the couple and bridal party at their side, we ran up and down the Asbury boardwalk, stoping along the way to play mini golf and share some ice cream. We were also able to enjoy some photo time alone with the couple at a family friends backyard. It was like our own personal park! The couple then danced the night away at Tim McLoone's Supper Club at their reception.

Hoping we were going to be able to catch a break from the crazy heat wave of the summer today, we were sadly wrong. But just like our last couple, Andrea and Cody were rockstars all through out their day! Starting out in what may be one of favorite bedroom sessions yet this year, Andrea had not one, but two stunning rooms for us to have a blast with. We then met up with Cody and headed over to the Trump National Golf Course in Colts Neck, NJ. Despite the sun beating down on them, our couple was gorgeous as they run around the golf course with us! During the reception, Cody and his sister kicked off their dress shoes and traded them in for some cowboy boots in honor of Cody's family love for Texas!

Rickie Lee & Matt

On what had to be one of, if not the hottest days of the year, Rickie Lee and Matt tied the knot! Despite the triple digit temperatures, the two were AMAZING during the photo shoot in Thompson Park! (It was our first time there..but it definitely won't be our last! We absolutely fell in love with this location!) We took the couple all around the different porches outside of the mansion, then headed inside to cool off where we found a beautiful sunroom! Rickie Lee and Matt had a two part ceremony with both a Reverend and a Rabbi at the Oyster Point Hotel.

It was a great day and we wish Rickie Lee and Matt the best on their marriage!!

Every wedding is always a pleasure for us to photograph, yet this one was exceptionally special to us. Abby was a past photo student of Johns and it meant so much to him to be apart of her big day. Although the wedding was literally in her backyard, the romance between Abby and David began all the way in Abliene, Texas. Abby kept her mother's memory as a key detail throughout the day by wearing her wedding ring and dress. The ceremony was held at her father's church and it was only fitting to have him officiate the day. Abby and David stole the show for the most unique walk down the aisle..they choose the theme to Indiana Jones and after all was said and done David did a quick change, swept Abby off of her feet and did as Jones would..carried her off into the sunset!

Destination weddings are always fun, but this one was truly memorable! Not only did we get to spend the weekend at the historical Mystic Seaport in CT, but we were able to witness the nuptials of an honorary "Heyn." Since the third grade, Lauren has been inseparable with John's two twin daughters, both of which were apart of the wedding party. Her and Derek planned a beautiful nautical themed wedding, which is portrayed throughout all of her pictures.

We were so honored to be a part of both Lauren and Derek's day and are looking forward to witnessing their marriage grow. Best wishes to you both!

It was a beautiful, hot, sunny day in July when Melissa and Ken tied the knot at St. Catherine's church in Holmdel. The couple and their bridal party managed to beat the heat at our all time favorite park, Deep Cut Gardens! Melissa chose fun and flirty bridemaids dresses that quickly became an up and coming color trend. The reception was held at the Molly Pitcher Inn where Melissa and Ken were happily surprised by Red Bank's 4th fof July fireworks! It was an all around great day!!

Elizabeth and Will met at college across the country in Colorado, yet ventured back to the bride's childhood home of the Jersey Shore for a beautiful, traditional wedding. We were greeted by the familiar face of Amy, Elizabeth's cousin and one our past brides, when we first entered the home! With the weather just right, we started our day in what seemed like the perfect park setting..that was actually Elizabeth's parents backyard!! We then made our way to the Molly Pitcher Inn in Red Bank where we had a gorgeous ceremony led by Will's best man, Bret. The couple and their guests then danced the night away with our favorite DJ Jay, from Sound Connection Entertainment!! We wish the couple only the best!!

Jennifer & Kevin's love bloomed out of once a friendship into a gorgeous springtime park wedding! Jennifer kept her day pretty and playful by choosing daisies and yellow bridesmaids dresses to go with our Lake Shannondoah backdrop. Kevin kept up with his role in the day by bringing out the car of all muscle cars..a jet black Shelby!!

The two added a touch of humor walking down the aisle of St. Alloysius Chuch (which we thought was gorgeous) with "this is your last chance to run" sign that had the whole church giggling. The absolute highlight of our day was watching the couple officially become a family of three with Kevin's daughter, Kaylee..the day was simply beautiful and we are so happy we were there to take part in it!

Danielle & James

Dani and James were rock stars on their wedding-- no ifs, ands, or buts about it! They strutted through their day from the first click of the camera to the last dance and it was a party for everyone involved: their bridal party was having fun and we were having fun! What more could we ask for?

Dani was stunning! Talk about a girl who can work a red wall-- Dani owned the spotlight on her day-- she looks incredible! She was epitome of the sexy little bride and the camera loved her as much as we did.

James kept it cool in spats and suspenders (gotta love a man who isn't afraid to rock some hot pink accessories!). The couple expressed their love of Bruce by hitting up the Stone Pony for a session in Asbury. We honestly couldn't ask for more from a couple!!

Lindsay & Greg

Lindsay is a special bride because she met John's daughters in the sixth grade and consequently became an attachment to the Heyn Clan. Lindsay has been here for so long that we occasionally forget she isn't a Heyn and momentarily make the twins into triplets. Her wedding was like her smile: vibrant and memorable. She included pops of color, a polished vintage flair, and had us laughing with her at every turn.

John's daughter Kelly made the invitations! Check out our girl's skill!!

We wish Lindsay that absolute best and we look forward to being right along side of her as her marriage blooms. Lots of love!!

Beth & Steve

Beth and Steve's wedding was a flurry of the cutest details we've seen in years. This wedding was planned to a "T" and everything suited the beachy, laid back vibe. In all honesty it has been a while since so many details fit each other AND the couple so perfectly that we can't help but show them off! Custom clothes hanger? Check. Lollipops, blue champagne, beach balls, Stewart's ice cream float? ...All of the above! They integrated everything about themselves as a couple in those spunky little extras including plenty of "ESPN time" for Steve! He played baseball, volleyball and golf during his wedding-- what more could a sportsman ask for?

All in all we had an absolute BLAST with this couple-- they were so in love with each other and their day was a masterful demonstration of that! We wish you all the best!!

Every bride has their own style and Laura's was classic elegance for every minute of her day. She oozed sophistication and her photos have a likewise timeless look to them. We love it when a bride's day will never get dated by trends because it allows us to return to their wedding year after year as an example to others. We foresee ourselves returning to Laura's day time and time again to show brides how to look effortlessly lovely.

Tracey and Mike got married among ideal wedding weather: clouds and even temperatures. Tracey looked elegant and flawless for her house session-- one thing we've said before and we'll say again is that a POP of color makes all the difference and Tracey gave us two pops, her sari and her Tiffany-blue wall! The church and Deep Cut were one pleasant location after another: to our future brides Deep Cut now has a $40 permit attached to it (which we learned the hard way that day!) but is worth EVERY penny!! Just check out the park session for this wedding!!

We ended the night on the beach at the Water's Edge, hanging out on the sand, lounging by the cabanas, watching the storm clouds meander in over the surf... It was a day to remember!!

Kristin & Stu were a fun-loving couple that had a high-fashion look to their wedding. It photographed like California's most chic weddings and all from the comfort of the Jersey Shore.

We have trouble picking a favorite part of this wedding: the dog that joined in? The gorgeous coloring on the flowers against the bridesmaids dresses? The bride's eyes? Or those storm clouds?

It's all beautiful, and they were an amazing addition-- a truly loving couple that treated us spectacularly!

John's Surprise Retirement Party

As some of you may know this is the year Heyn Photography has been dually dreading and looking forward to for many years: The year John Heyn retires from teaching.

We think everyone who works as hard as John has deserves to enjoy some time off but because he was our teacher it makes it a bittersweet farewell. His family and friends organized a massive surprise retirement party for him that included dozens of former-students. It was held in Asbury Park at the Parlor Gallery (which you can rent out-- very fun for anyone looking for engagement party locations!) and John was completely shocked.

How We Became Wedding Paparazzi

When most people hear ‘paparazzi’ they think of tabloid magazines with dubious titles like “Who Secretly Married A Chimp?—Turn To Page 11” but there is one tiny little bit about them that we all forget about—while we see celebrities on movie screens and one-dimensional photographs those photographers are an arms length from them. They get to see beauty and glamor up-close and personal; it is their job to show that gilded lifestyle to the rest of the world. We crave the perfection, we yearn for the style, we lust after the thought that these are people (like us) and maybe we could look like that too.

A few years ago our studio went from taking pictures to creating an entire experience for our brides.

We have a small studio, only five girls on payroll under our co-owners, and averaging about fifty weddings a year. The benefit is twofold: we know the name, the story, and the style of every single bride we book; we also know one another inside and out. Paparazzi know where to find a movie star, what to say to make them turn this way or that way, they know where their light is and how to get that picture because they have seconds in-between Julia Roberts getting out of her car and into the restaurant and they won’t get a second chance at that moment.

Weddings are remarkably similar: we only get one day, one single day, to get every picture right and there are never second chances. If your photographer misses the kiss that first kiss between husband and wife you can never get it back—which is why we never miss it. On a wedding we stride into the bride’s house, analyze the status of make-up and hair, assess the rooms, watch the movement of light that goes unnoticed to everyone else in the house, and make our choices so that we get pristine images. Not just pristine—stunning.

We want our brides to feel like they are coasting down a red carpet all day. We want every shot to ooze Vogue and Cosmopolitan. We want every single smile they give us to glow with pride because they truly feel recognized and adored by the only people with them from the first bobby-pin to the last dance—their photographers. The pictures start before the groom is ever in attendance and after everyone else goes home our product is the one lasting souvenir (besides your husband). Think about it—the music ends, the food is eaten, the shoes get scuffed, the dress is bagged and saved in the hope that when your daughter is married some small part of it might be remotely in style, and you wash off the make-up, take down your hair. The one thing that you take off the shelf year after year to show your wedding frozen in time as a testament to your love is your wedding album.

There are two reasons every single person in our studio got into this business and the first reason is we spent endless hours as children staring at our parents’ wedding photos with a mixture of intense love and deep fascination—we were all in awe at the ability to share that wedding with our parents even though it happened years before we were born. We giggled at the dresses, laughed at the hair and make-up choices, we commented on how young mom looked (and what is going on with dad’s mustache?!) and, perhaps the most important thing, we were able to see photographs of those we no longer had with us. We would trace our little fingers over Grandpa’s eyes and remark that they looked precisely like ours. We all loved photography, weddings in particular, before we ever knew how to hold a camera.

The second reason we got into wedding photography is that we learned how to hold a camera by a man who refuses to accept anything less than perfection. Some might call our boss, the only man in the studio, hen-pecked but he adores his all-girl crew. He started as our teacher in high school and hand-picked the students who had a sharp enough eye to never miss a single shot, to never guess which lens we need or which pose works well in the light—he hand-picked the students who intuitively knew photography and he taught us weddings.

We come to every wedding with three people and surround a bride as her own private paparazzi. We remind her: you are the movie star, you are the focal point, the center of attention, and the camera loves you. There’s a simple formula for this feeling of elation we give to our brides: start with appreciating the beauty of every woman on her wedding day, add in the love of our craft, mix it with the complete comfort and ease that comes with working alongside people you identify as a second family, and voila—instant art that becomes yours forever.

Mary Catherine and Anthony had a great engagement shoot in Asbury Park-- lovely weather, no crowds, and time to showcase their love for one another. They literally couldn't stop smiling and laughing because they were so happy to be together-- with a couple like that we found it hard not to smile right along with them.

While they assured us that this was not their first photo-shoot together we are hoping it will be their favorite (next to their wedding of course!)

We had a stunning wedding last weekend at the PNC Art Center with Marielle and Jason. Marielle had been devoted to the details of her day and it paid off-- she looked amazing, her venue was perfect and her photographs came out immaculately beautiful. We found two awesome walls for our house session-- a faux-stone that really took the light well and a royal purple wall that offered a POP of color. Marielle worked the camera like a seasoned model.

Marielle and Jason met one another for the first time on the steps of Monmouth University's ever-gorgeous Wilson Hall. He was struck absolutely speechless by her and it was clear from the way they couldn't drag their eyes off of one another that these pictures would glow with love-- and they do!

When we got to PNC there was fantastic up-lighting that transformed the room-- up-lighting should be a consideration for every bride who wants to take a room from functional to fabulous.

We hope that Marielle and Jason had a "Beautiful" day!

Most brides BEG us to give them perfect weather-- they plead with us for sunshine. Brides ask us to make sure that we keep it at least 70 degrees and we desperately wish we could give it to them but it really is out of our hands. It breaks our hearts not to be able to magic in the good weather for our girls... but Jennifer was a little different. Jennifer planned a winter wedding and one day asked us if we thought she was going to luck out and get snow! With a mid-January wedding we felt pretty confident telling her that snow looked promising ;)

Jennifer was always a winter-loving girl and we couldn't have been more happy for her that she got her dream wedding-- snow included! She accented her day with gorgeous purple bridesmaids' dresses and matching purple pumps for our glowing bride. Even with snow on the ground the bride (and bridal party!) made it outside for pictures.

This New Year's Eve Heyn Photography had the pleasure of ringing in 2011 with a truly wonderful bride and groom-- Lindsey and Kevin. We'd met them before-- not just on their engagement shoot but on a few weddings within their circle of friends (best of all-- we get to see them at a few upcoming weddings as well)! They are sweet, down-to-earth people who had a wedding reflective of that love: a pure celebration, tons of fun, and absolutely no stress. Lindsey was a truly calm bride and a joy to work with (the camera really loves her!) and Kevin was a groom who was happy to help his bride achieve the photos she wanted.

Lindsey even climbed on a piano for us and braved the snowy outdoors at Fairleigh Dickinson University for her pictures and we couldn't be happier with the result!

Besides FDU we were located at The Madison Hotel and we just have one word for you: conservatory. Although you probably haven't used "conservatory" in a conversation since the last time you played Clue it was an absolutely BREATHTAKING location for a wedding ceremony and reception! Outside you could see the ambient light from a gorgeous winter sky, inside the lighting was dimmed to a romantic glow, and it felt like being in a winter wonderland.

December weddings can, unfortunately, be cold and Kristine and Eric had the unfortunate luck of pulling a particularly cold day. But any of our brides know that neither wind, nor rain, nor freezing cold temperatures will stop us from insuring that a wedding gets properly photographed!

This is very much a beach wedding location and we don't think that beautiful beach pictures have a season-- shooting it in the winter is just as beautiful as the fall, summer or spring. In this case the Point Pleasant boardwalk was primarily boarded up and it gave the pictures a very Vogue look to them.

One of the surprises of the day was that Santa and one of his Elves happened to be visiting the boardwalk and were nice enough to take pictures with us!! This is a Heyn Photo first-- we had never photographed Old Saint Nick before and it was certainly one of the history books!

Despite the freezing cold the bride and groom walked out towards the water and let us get some stunning beach shots. The pink-tinted sky that the winter typically gives us was truly as beautiful as the couple :) After the water we hit the inside of the bar at Jenkinson's which we haven't done in years! Later we warmed up at the Crystal Point as the couple danced the night away :)

Kristine and Eric were very relaxed and we had a great time working with them!

Tom and Cathy's wedding was a classic show of love :) We began at the bride's house surrounded by her family and friends in the flurry of getting ready. We went to our beloved Monmouth University where we did formals and then had a prolonged wondering session. Former brides will know that if we get a half hour to roam freely in Wilson Hall we are the happiest photographers on the planet! We had some awesome shots!

It really is a pleasure when Heyn Photography gets a call from a family friend who wants to include John in their wedding and Jaclyn & Chris' day was no exception. The day before Halloween comes with a lot of pressure to be as unique as the holiday and the couple truly rose to the occasion!

On a crisp fall day our be-speckled bride met her dapper groom in a quaint chapel before diving right into a fall colors park session! With the leaves on the trees turning the perfect shade to match the colors of the bridal party the weather truly made the day wonderful! Jaclyn and Chris were great to work with and you can really see them shine whenever they look at one another.

We truly lucked out on locations because we got to return to Spring Lake, a tried and true favorite, and we hit the beach in two locations!

We ended up at The Breakers where the Vintage-Glam look continued. We truly love the Breakers because of its location-- right by Spring Lake and directly across from the ocean! It's always fun for us to shoot there and this day was no exception.

Saturday we had the pleasure of shooting Victoria and Vincent's wedding. The day was planned to include touches from "Breakfast At Tiffany's" and so we had to include some Audrey Hepburn glamor shots and of course a pose in front of Tiffany's in Red Bank. Their first dance song was even "Moon River"!

We were at St. James for the church ceremony before we headed to Deep Cut Park. Deep Cut is definitely one of our favorite parks of all time because it has a few versatile spots: the open greenery in front, the pond in the middle and the maze/bonsai garden in the back. This time around we really got to play with the giant Bonsai tree and the images absolutely popped!

We finished up the day at the Molly Pitcher where the couple danced the night away among their family and friends.

Denise & Nick .... & Stop Motion!

Denise and Nick were also a Saturday wedding for Heyn Photography and they also had gorgeous weather (our October brides have been pretty lucky so far!). We started at a quaint little B&B in Spring Lake which put us only a block from the lake itself-- we can't stress enough how convenient a location it is with the lake, town, and beach all so close together. Unfortunately we didn't get to the town this time but we more than made up for it with the park and beach session!

Denise had that Jennifer Love Hewitt-movie star-glam look going for her AND she was willing to sit on sand, roll around on a bed, climb off-limits stairways and generally do anything we asked so we had an absolute ball shooting her.

Here at the studio we are always looking into new ideas for ourselves and our clients to enjoy. One thing that we haven't applied to a wedding before was stop motion photography. Don't know what stop motion is? Well we suggest watching Denise's slideshow and when you hit the beach section focus and prepare to be amazed! It is almost like a video-photo hybrid and we liked this first trial into it at a wedding.

Future brides can look forward to our company evolving this new art form as we get more and more familiar with it!

There's nothing we like more than pretty weather and a laid back bride-- Saturday our studio was lucky enough to have TWO relaxed ladies to photograph! The first was Kelly who charmed us instantly with striking blue eyes and a mellow personality. We expected as much from her-- she was a former student of John's and he was so excited to photograph yet another student of his! She married Mike and they had all the makings of excellent pictures-- good temperatures, interesting location, and the right attitude :)

After pictures they had a sunset ceremony and danced the night away! We hope they continue to dance through their lives together with that much enthusiasm!

Erin & Ted were a gift from a past bride, Bobbi, and had an E-session with us this past Sunday. They were very rock and roll and gave us plenty to work with---including their 1 year old pup Chloe! We really love it when couples personalize a shoot with something like a dog or a unique setting so that it becomes theirs and Sunday was really a day apart. We walked all around Spring Lake and then moved onto the little town section.

The great thing about towns is that you can find new spots in them every single time you shoot-- we managed to do all new locations at this E-Session that we hadn't done in previous E-Sessions in the same locations!

We are kinda bummed that we have to wait until 2012 to shoot Erin and Ted's wedding but we know it will be an amazing wedding when we do get there!

After you do weddings for over twenty years it gets to the point where you feel like you've shot everywhere. Last Saturday we were actually at a location that nobody in the studio had ever shot a wedding at before! Talk about excited-- we couldn't wait to see new sites!

The Sandy Hook Chapel in the historical end of Sandy Hook beach was stunning-- a little white chapel on the edge of a grassy and rocky outcropping probably less than twenty feet from the ocean. It was gorgeous inside and outside we found all of our favorite things: the sky, the ocean, big empty stretches of grass, and one-of-a-kind historical buildings that really added some spice into the wedding shots.

If you haven't found your perfect chapel we suggest giving this one a tour!

Meghan & Matt were lucky to have a gorgeous day-- 70 degrees, light breeze, and fun-loving attitudes complimented an already gorgeous couple! They wound up at the Navesink Country Club and partied their night away :) We chose a particular song for them because they walked out of the church to the artist's music AND had a cover band at their cocktail hour so we're thinking this means that they like his tunes.

We just love it when we get the joy of returning to a great family for a second wedding and we got that experience at Theresa Brennan's wedding. We had previously photographed her sister Kathleen who is due any day now with a bouncing baby boy! We loved their family the first time around and this wedding was really icing on the cake :)

Theresa was a bride who thought of fabulous little details like feathered shoes (yes, we adored them instantly) and extra bling in her cathedral length veil. It can't be repeated enough that its little details like those that will inevitably make your day look different from any other.

October started out with pouring rain but some of our past brides will remember that we love a stormy day ;) The rain broke JUST as we were getting to the beach (and we mean just-- we clocked it at five minutes before the limo arrived) but WOW look at the waves and the sky! October started off with a bang and we hope the trend continues!!

Saturday had the distinction of being Alyson & Matt's wedding. Instead of Monmouth our bride and groom wanted to spice up their pictures by using a different college location-- Georgian Court. After a slew of weddings at Monmouth we have to admit we really enjoyed the change of pace-- with greenery like Georgian's it feels like a park session and a university setting all in one!

Matt is a volunteer fireman so you'll notice that his friends from the firehouse drove him around in style-- forget a limo, he had a FIRETRUCK! You know that we had tons of fun shooting with it and it gave their day a signature unlike any other. Alyson looked every inch the bride and was so pleasant that we were smiling ear to ear when we left for the night.

E-Session: Gabe & Alicia

Apparently the fall is the season for E-Sessions because as we are looking over our schedule for the upcoming couple of months there are a lot of E-Sessions. Last weekend happened to be Gabe & Alicia's E-Session which lasted almost twice as long as most sessions because we kept hitting location after amazing location with them in Hoboken!

We started in an exclusive apartment complex where climbing onto some terraces got us (slightly) in trouble but when you see the view we got it was clearly worth the slap on the wrist! After that we walked around Washington Street and did some really different street stuff-- look at the Karma Kafe, and the stoops! Also never underestimate the power of brick walls and interesting architecture like garages and buildings. It wouldn't be Hoboken without a stop in the train session and the gorgeous park that is right next to it.

Having a park right in such a cool cityscape is a welcome change of pace and the ferry docks made for an innovative backdrop. The train session had just a couple of quick shots because we had something really unique waiting for us down the street--- we were actually allowed to take a couple shots in the bar Teak! How pretty is their lighting?

Gabe and Alicia were TROOPERS for keeping the vibe light and funny the entire time we shot. We can't wait to shoot their wedding!

Occasionally we get a bride who is so stunning that we all fight amongst ourselves for who gets to be on the job-- Jennifer was definitely on that list of brides. She had a style that set her apart from most jobs with a Butterfly Net veil, gorgeous vintage inspired floral dress and snakeskin (yes SNAKESKIN) shoes. Jennifer was our Marilyn Monroe for the day and we couldn't stop clicking away at her (especially those bluer-than-blue eyes)

This was easily the best weather of the summer-- 75 degrees, perfect clouds, light breeze and zero rain. It seemed like the entirety of Ocean Grove came out to witness the wedding on the beach. The sky and crashing waves made the ideal backdrop for this couple and you'll see how much the camera loves them both. We wish them the very best and can't express how much we loved their session!!

New E-Session: Lindsay and Kevin

Weddings can be the gift that keeps on giving-- in this case we have had the pleasure of booking several girls in a group of friends after doing the wedding of some of their college friends. Lindsay is one of those friends and we were psyched to do her engagement session in Spring Lake! Lindsay lucked out and really got some of those fall colors in her park session. Because Spring Lake has a park, a cool little town, and a beach all within a block of one another Lindsay was able to get three different locations without any fuss and it was really worth it.

Lindsay and Kevin rocked their E-Session and we can't wait for their New Year's Eve wedding!!!

Hurricane Earl was side-stepping the coast on the day of Randa & Dave's wedding and we were lucky enough to barely notice! It was cloudy but there was hardly any rain and what rain there was didn't even require an umbrella-- talk about lucky!!!!!

Randa had a beautifully outfitted townhouse that we had a ball shooting in! She even let us play around with Dave's guitar for a little while :) After the house was yet another weekend at Monmouth University and we have to say-- that location never gets old. The bride and groom met each other for the first time in the columns and proceeded to have an excellent session wandering around the halls.

As many of you know our Marissa was married this past weekend. She's been a part of the studio for eleven years and when she was engaged it wasn't just her wedding to plan-- it was our wedding. The whole studio was wrapped up in where she should go, what she should do, what her colors would be (what about a theme?!) and on and on and on. This studio is like a family and this was the wedding of our daughter and our sister and our friend.

Marissa was not just any bride to us-- she was The Bride. The Bride we will talk about forever, the bride all other bride's will be measured against, and the Bride we hold closest to our hearts. Her wedding brought together our entire studio as most weddings bring together entire families and it really can't be stressed enough how much this means to us.

Marissa and Alex were married on one of very few perfect days this summer. They avoided both the unbearable heat, the stifling humidity, and the rain. She had perfect hair, perfect make-up, the perfect dress and, being Marissa, she had absolutely perfect shoes (and emergency back up pairs-- just in case).

She was married in Asbury at the gorgeous Berkeley which suited her personal style to a T. Anyone who knows Marissa felt that the wedding was in absolute sync with who the bride was as a person and it made the day feel familiar and comfortable in a way few weddings feel.

We were all touched by the love the couple felt for one another but in particular by the love we felt for the couple. None of us so much as John was caught up in the joy of witnessing this part of Marissa's life and it was like watching one of his own daughters walk down that aisle. Patra's wedding was special to us because Marissa was actually friends with Patra's brother, Evan, and was present the night Patra and Stephen met. It was like watching a kid sister grow up and get married and the day was full of laughter and joking-- one of the best atmospheres we can have on a wedding.

We usually talk about how stunning Monmouth U is (and what a good idea in the event of rain) but even we saw a new angle of the college-- a balcony! Stephen used to work at Monmouth as a police officer and so he knew just where to lead us to get some romantic balcony landscapes for his wedding photos.

But forget Monmouth-- it was really Patra that took our breath away with one of our best hotel sessions this season! She was such a sport throughout the process and we enjoyed every second of her day.

Erin and Chris were previously featured on our blog for their absolutely amazing engagement session and with an E-Session like that we had high expectations for their wedding. We weren't disappointed! Erin started our day with an jaw-dropping morning session complete with bright orange shoes that we adored :) Next we met Chris for the first time at the beach and found a spot that allowed us a view of the waves without having people in our background. Our blogstalkers will all notice that we stopped at Monmouth U (and beat out six other weddings for the use of the stairs).

Throughout the day we had the most upbeat, loving couple we could've asked for and it absolutely shows in every single shot. They ROCKED these photos and it was our pleasure to be a part of their special day!

Marilyn's wedding was special to us because we got the chance to do two things we always wanted to do in one: Shoot a NY wedding and Shoot a California Wedding :) We were in Brooklyn all day with our transplanted New Yorker and her San Francisco hubby!

New York is fascinating for photographers because there is so much going on visually that we are trying to capture. You'll notice that we managed to shoot a Dirty-Water-Dog Vendor and even one of the many bridges (who can guess which one?) before we wound up at Russo's.
It was a rainy day in the Big Apple but as our loyal readers know we LOVE rain. Rainy days are always more unique on paper than sunny days are and our rainy day brides never feel like they didn't get enough variety in their locations. As we have done many times before we umbrella-ed up and went out into the rain with our bride and groom and had a wonderful time :)

We did Kara and Jon's engagement session a while back and were excited that their wedding was this weekend. Kara looked like Jackie-O and blew us all away with how willing she was to play around for the right shots. Not only did she cooperate for us but she threw her own creative juices our way via colored parasols for the bride and her bridesmaids.

Little details like parasols, flowers, shoes, etc. really make a wedding into a visually cohesive masterpiece. Instead of just having bouquets the girls had some pictures with their umbrellas and it helped establish the mood (playful but classy) and gave us more things to do with our couple :)

Kara and Jon planned out a very high-energy walk in to a Michael Jackson mix that involved The Robot, The Worm and other dance moves executed to perfection :) Of course no truly fun walk in would be complete without the bride doing A FLIP.... yes a FLIP. Lara and John have waited 12 years for this special day.... they've been sweethearts since childhood! Their day was filled with dedication to one another and their families; for example they're wedding reception was at the Molly Pitcher where both Lara's grandparents AND parents had been married!

Even though it was horrifically hot the couple stuck it out in Deep Cut Park for some truly remarkable park pictures--- this is one of the most photographic and unique locations around and perfect for a Red Bank area couple who don't want a city-street session.

We really enjoyed being in the company of Lara and John and their bridal party (which boasted a fellow wedding photographer in the bride's cousin Christina!) and we wish the couple many many years of happiness!

It has been one hot, dry summer...right up until Kim and Keith's wedding on Saturday! It was raining buckets for most of the day but as many of our past brides will remember: we LOVE the rain! It makes color's pop! The clouds give nice even light for outdoor shots and it also cools us down (a welcome relief after all the heat)! Kim was a wonderfully accommodating bride who posed on a window ledge, went outside in Spring Lake for pictures (was almost run over by a pack of teenage boys on bicycles!) and was rewarded with a hint of sunlight for her beach session.

Melissa & Rob

Melissa and Rob had a small, intimate affair at the Water's Edge in Sea Bright. It was mostly family and close friends... even the workers were close friends! John, Jacqui and Cara all had connections to the bride beyond being the photographers at her wedding! Melissa was actually a former student of John's who graduated with a degree in photography from Drexel (so clearly, she had her pictures in mind during the day-- she was an extremely easy bride to work with!). Jacqui's high school gymnastics coach was the Maid of Honor and Cara's family has been friends with the bride for years -- they even live down the street from one another!

The weather was hot, the beach was beautiful and this couple was charming to be around. Melissa and Rob normally live in Texas, where Rob is currently stationed, but they returned to the Jersey Shore because you might take the Shore away from a Jersey Girl but you can't ever take the Jersey Girl out of the Shore!

A great day and we wish the happy couple all the best!

Bobbi & Frankie

Talk about va-va-voom! Bobbi has been one of our blog-stalkers and she approached her wedding with a specific goal: to feel great and have fun. Mission accomplished! Bobbi and Frankie have known eachother for years and you can really see that deep love in their eyes. Bobbi has catapulted herself to our Top Brides of All Time list with her extremely kind and generous heart and her anything-for-the-photo attitude. Her pictures flat out ROCK and we are so proud to present them to you!

COOL TIP:: One thing brides should think of is how their engagement session and wedding will reflect one another. In Bobbi's case the reflection was literal-- we duplicated a pose!

Robin and Tim

This past Saturday Jackie, Rebecca and I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Robin and Tim at the beautiful Rutgers Botanical Gardens. Robin's sister Lisa (whose wedding we photographed in 2007) served as the Maid of Honor, while Tim's brother Colin was the Best Man. What started out as a rainy Saturday morning turned into a bright, clear (but muggy) afternoon just in time for the outdoor ceremony. After the usual family and bridal party shots, we all walked to the bamboo forest for some interesting portraits. It's very easy to get lost in your photography (as well as the forest) when you are clearly photographing a couple that shows this much love for eachother. The reception followed at the Log Cabin Pavilion on the grounds. Family and friends danced the night away under the stars. Check out the slide show!

Staci & Adam

Adam and Staci are close to the heart of the Heyn Photo Family for a few reasons. First, you may recognize Staci from her sister Carrie's wedding pictures! The Frost Family are repeat clients and we couldn't be more thrilled to work with them again! Adam has another connection to the studio: he's been best friends with Marissa for years! Shooting their wedding was like shooting for family and we were excited to strut our photographic stuff. There was a fantastic restaurant in the hotel decked out in red and black with vintage photographs all over the walls: we had an absolute BLAST shooting there! One tip for a great wedding shoot: a fabulous location!

Dana & Ryan

It is always extra special when our bride isn't merely a client, but a friend. Marissa has known Dana Gale and her sister Jess for her entire life and was absolutely ecstatic to do Dana's wedding. Dana's day was stunning in several ways. First we began in her parents Century Home in Little Silver...it was built in 1862! Then we went to the newly re-decorated Oyster Point and had a blast in one of the suites :) After that we had the privilege of witnessing Dana get married...with her own mother officiating!

Of course no cutting-edge NYC-inspired shoot would be complete without a walk through Red Bank!

Dana was beautiful and it was truly amazing to be a part of her day.

Kristin and Matt had a theme for their wedding, love birds, but we would argue that it is more like a theme for their marriage. These two positively radiated love and if you can't see it you're blind. They lucked out in so many ways: great weather, great location and they even stumbled upon a fabulous vintage car while shooting in Allaire State Park. The pictures are to die for and this couple makes it all look so easy :)

Old Bride, New Mommy part 2

In the same weekend that we shot Baby Grace, Alyson and Tom Ehrlich called us to shoot their 8 month old daughter Callan Rose. What can we say? It's a photographers life to be surrounded by beautiful women and beautiful babies :) Callan and Grace were different shoots for us in one big way: Callan could sit and prop herself up which allowed us to try poses with her that we coudn't with Grace. It is impossible to pick a favorite between these girls though, they were both wonderful and adorable :) We wish both sets of new parents all the luck in the world!

Old Bride, New Mommy!

Two of our former brides have recently contacted us to do photographs of their precious daughters :) We couldn't be more thrilled that we are still a part of their lives! Kelly and Tony had an absolutely beautiful beach wedding and now they are blessed with a gorgeous baby girl named Grace. Grace was only a week old when we photographed her... Check it out!

Tracy and Frank were determined to have great photos on their wedding day despite the Northeaster. Even when the power blew out! The day started out at Tracy's parent's home where Tracy truly blew us away with her beauty! She did whatever we sked her to do from laying on the bed to the floor. Then we were off to the Season's to meet her husband to be. Frank was very handsome as he met his bride on the staircase. Being there was a major storm going on outside we used the Season's from every inch. One of the best spots was the colorful arcade where we were able to take some fun bridal party shots and even had a romantic moment on the pin ball machine! The reception was a blast with the dance floor constantly packed with everyone having the time of their lives! Tracy and Frank were so awesome they would not even let a storm get in their way!

Cara & Matthew

Beautiful locations and beautiful brides are always a good combination. In Cara Jones' case the Berkeley in Asbury was the perfect location for her day! It was modern and edgey but classy, just like the bride. Cara worked it for us :) She rolled around on the bed, she climbed into a shower, she got into a window (and that was all before we left the room!). We had a great time shooting her.... and then the beach session came and we had an AMAZING time shooting her :)

The Asbury Park boardwalk has a truly fun feel for a wedding party to casually walk down (or strut down, whatever the situation calls for) and there's always the beautiful blue background of the Jersey Shore. Of course what Asbury session would be complete without a quick trip to the Wonder Bar?

We wish Cara and Matthew the best and we hope you enjoyed their show as much as we enjoyed their wedding :)

Bridal Show FUN @ The Ritacco Center

This past sunday we had the pleasure of meeting many new brides at the Ritacco center bridal show. Wedding Set go out did themselves this year and put on a great event which we were proud to be a part of! The Knot is one of those websites that you always hope to be recognized by because it embodies the single most popular site (and magazine) that women go to for wedding advice. It is a compliment on so many levels because it really shows that our hard work to be the best in our business is being recognized by the top people in the industry. Our old website got the job done but at the end of the day we felt that it was time to really upgrade it and jazz it up so that it reflected our style better. It was key that we be able to change our images ourself so that we could constantly be able to show our latest and greatest weddings :) Everything is new: there's an introductory flash show (trust us, watch the whole thing, it is truly amazing!), new galleries (with tons of new pictures!), new contact form... new EVERYTHING!

This year we had a New Year's Eve wedding with the drop-dead-gorgeous Jessica Jenkins :) It was really a perfect combination for us: great lighting, a beautiful dusting of snow, and a very pretty bride. Give us that and we are happy photographers!

We went from Allaire Chapel to Monmouth University and wound up at the re-designed Clark's Landing. This venue is truly jaw-dropping, its a stunning place for a wedding. During all of it Jessica really worked with us which, as we know, is the best way to get beautiful photographs! She laid down on some steps, she wrapped her veil around herself and all in all was the perfect model.

This wedding was full of special moments: from Tom's step-dad as the best man to Tom and Jess sharing the same wedding song as her parents... the New Year countdown was almost forgotten in the blur of good times and we hope this couple continues to experience bliss.

Once in a while we get brides who truly make an effort to be extra friendly and personable to us. They keep tabs on our blog, they friend us on facebook, and when we call them to make appointments we wind up talking with them about everything else because we have really begun to bond with them. This is clearly our favorite type of client :)

We've had quite a few memorable blog-stalkers over the last few years but one of our newest is Bobbi, who recently shot her engagement session with Marissa. Bobbi has that Rolling Stone meets Vogue look about her and she is a fabulous model. With a session like this we look forward to her wedding!

Sometimes love really crosses boundaries and brings people together. One of the surest tests of an enduring love? A love that has reached through time. Amie and Bill have known each other since their days in St Rose High School so when their wedding day rolled around it was no surprise that they chose to go back to their roots :)

Amie is a truly loving individual to everyone: her family, her husband and her photographers. She is one of the sweetest brides we've ever had and she was a delight to work with. She even got a bit down a dirty at the park by throwing some leaves around! After all, it IS fall, now is the time to play in leaf piles :) This park session was tremendous and ranks high on our list of favorite park sessions ever. Just look at the color! Look at the vibrance of the couple! It's heaven for a photographer!

After the park session we went to the beach before heading over to The Avenue in Pier Village (which was GORGEOUS)

Jenna & Ryan

We've seen our share of wacky weather as wedding photographers. We've seen rain, sleet, snow... and after Jenna's wedding, we have seen wind. Cold, horrible, biting wind. Marissa and the crew looked like Eskimos all bundled up against the elements! We would never wish those conditions on anyone but we always wish to have a bride as devoted as Jenna when that kind of weather happens. Not only did she go out on the sand, with only a shawl and a husband to keep her warm, but she STILL smiled and looked happy throughout the whole experience.

Jenna was a real sport and trust us when we say it was worth it. One thing about such wretched wind: it does make gowns and shawls fly around in photographically interesting ways :) Not to mention Jenna went under the boardwalk with us which always gives us plenty of room to start getting creative!

We love all of our blog-stalkers and Edie is a devoted one :) Her wedding was special because it wasn't really a wedding... it was her 20th anniversary with her husband, Phil! It was a slightly different experience for us because normally we see a couple starting out on their journey together with no idea about what will happen to them in their future together. This time, we had the opportunity to see how love, like a fine wine, only gets better with time!

Even after twenty years Phil still looks at Edie with every ounce of pride, wonder, and love that we see in the eyes of newlywed grooms. This couple should be an example to us all that true love does endure and every year only brings more joy!

Our Marissa is getting Married!

Last Friday Cara and I had the pleasure of photographing Marissa and her fiance Alex for their engagement session in New York City. We were first going to use the Brooklyn Bridge but because of police activity we couldn't get on it. Fortunately at the base of the bridge we found City Hall Park! It was a cool wet afternoon/evening but we got some great shots around the fountain. This was a very special shoot for me as Marissa has been with the company for the past eleven years. It was like photographing one of my own daughters. Her wedding will take place next August at the newly remodeled Berkley Carteret In Asbury Park. I am honored that Marissa and Alex have chosen me to photograph their wedding. Hope you enjoy the slide show!

Urania was among our most ravishing brides ever and this pretty lady looked good in whatever she wore-- we should know, we had the pleasure of seeing her in two gorgeous dresses! What is it recently with those gorgeous brides who do anything we want them to do? We've been on a roll recently and we just hope in never stops! This weekend we had the pleasure of shooting Erin and Justin's wedding which was more or less an all-TCNJ alum party (and our little "Tonto", Cara, is currently at TCNJ so it felt like it was all in the family). There was IDEAL weather: just a hint of sun with perfect cloud cover...

Get this... The Bride actually WANTED to walk along the shore line by the waves :) The bridal party might have gotten a little wet but it was so beyond worth it :)

Erin and Justin rented a house in LBI for the bride to get ready in, it was two blocks away from the beach where they got married and then they went over to the very pretty Stateroom for their reception. Outdoor couches? Stairways to wood overhangs? You know that the photographers couldn't get enough of it!

Andrea & Larry

Andrea was a bride who got dealt a bad hand from the weatherman: it was threatening to rain, it was cold and what's worse: it was windy. Wind is a veil killer and on the beach there's nothing quite as biting as a stiff sea-breeze when its already in the 50s but what can you do? Andrea took her man and her bridal party and they trooped outside regardless of how uncomfortable it was... that's dedication! Despite the shivering the pictures look warm and full of love :)

One of the best things about an overcast days is the SKY, just look at some of those skies we managed to get!! It may not have been the ideal day to be outside but that will never stop it from looking like the ideal day to get married when the right photographer snaps the shot.

Something that was particularly special about this wedding was that after the ceremony when the couple was in front of the absolutely beautiful red doors to the church the bride's veil met the wind... in the few seconds that it was blowing around we managed to get a few frames and its just one of those breathtaking shots that we could never plan for if we had a thousand years. Other fun little details were Andrea's garter and Larry's cuff-links which were both Giants themed. In fact he just doesn't love him some Giants, his firm represents the Giants!! We were hoping to see some of the Big Blue in person but no such luck (too bad! John and Marissa are huge Giants fans!)
